WHAT’S NEW

tonyDs

Tony D’s, 288 Exchange Blvd, Rochester (585) 340-6200

Good news for fans of this popular Restaurant and Bar. Earlier this week Tony D’s reopened in it’s original location in Corn Hill.  It’s now owned and operated by the owners of the City Grill and the new City Tavern (mentioned below) and welcome’s the return of Tony D’s popular chef, Jay Speranza. Just under a year ago, the restaurant closed due to the untimely and unrelated death of both co-owners leaving the restaurant in legal limbo.  With coal-fired pizza, authentic Italian dishes and it’s warm atmosphere, it’s here just in time to get this year off to a good start!

delLago

del Lago Resort & Casino, Exit 41 NY State Thruway

Del Lago Resort & Casino opened February 1, bringing a touch of Vegas closer to home.  If you haven’t had a chance to go yet, or if you haven’t seen it all, enjoy this first look video taking you inside del Lago.  The $440 million 205-room hotel (opening this summer), spa and casino includes a banquet facility, several restaurants, lounges, and a 2,400 person entertainment center.  A spa will open this spring. The crown gem of the dining options is Portico by Fabio Viviani which opens this weekend. Viviani is a Top Chef All Star restaurateur, and author.  Another dining highlight is the Farmers Market Buffet which harvests the freshest locally-sourced produce, fruits, dairy products, meats and more from the most reputable growers in the Finger Lakes region.  Complimenting this theme is Savor New York— MacKenzie-Childs at del Lago, a unique retail outlet where local vendors bring the Finger Lakes region directly to del Lago patrons with a wide variety of local fruits, cheeses, baked goods, wines and beers, and other area specialties, and MacKenzie-Childs and Jay Strongwater products.  The casino features 2,000 slot machines and 89 gaming tables, including 12 poker tables. Good news for our economy- Del Lago created 1,800 construction jobs and 1,800 permanent jobs, and will generate more than $90 million annually for New York state and local governments.  It is sure to be a popular day trip or overnight stay less than an hour from Rochester.
